PRE CBT TRAINING

At 16 a young person can apply for a provisional motorcycle licence, and then have to participate in, and successfully complete a C.B.T (compulsory basic training) course. They would then be restricted to ride a 50cc motorcycle up until the age of 17, and then they can upgrade to a 125cc with no extra training being required. Becoming a road user for any young person is a very big step in their lives and a very worrying time for their parents.

It’s a very sad fact that many young people lose their lives to motorcycles each and every year, mainly due to a lack of training, and they believing they are invincible and it will never happen to them.

ORBIT Training aim to further educate young people to the dangers of motorcycle riding by providing a more enhanced and serious side to training. This involves demonstrating how to ride a motorcycle safely, the importance of crash helmets, and vital motorcycle safety checks before riding. They also complete a hazard perception and theory exam, all of which is achieved before rider training commences.

Our previous courses have been a huge success, and the main point we aim to get across to all young people we work with is:

  • Did these unfortunate young people that have met their demise on motorcycles, believe for one minute that when they pulled away on the bike that they would never come back?
